Summer is just around the corner! Do you have plans for your children to do during summer break? As a mother we try to have the perfect summer plan for our children but let be honest. It’s never going to be perfect. You feel bad and think you are not like the other mothers out here on the internet who have every put together. You are the mother who hit the snooze one too many times and now you are running late. You have your children throw on whatever clothing that is clean and hand them a bit to eat while rushing to the car to drop them off at the baby sitters, daycare, summer camp. Life happens but the truth is… throw away those perfect summer plans. What our children want the most is quality time with there families and friends. You want them to have memories that they can look back on and retell year after year.
One of my most fondest memories is taking a little road trip and having a food fight in the van with my sibling. We had so much fun and it wasn’t expansive. I want to make memories with me in it with my son. It just dawned on me that I have only nine summers life with him before he is finished with school. What can I do with him that he will remember. It was easier when he was younger, but now he has is own interests. I need to get on his level a little bit and try my best to incorporate his ideas into our summer plans. So where do I start? Well that will be on another post.
